eero Wi-Fi Setup

Your step-by-step guide to getting connected

Your fibre is installed – now let’s get your Wi-Fi running. Setup takes about 10 minutes and the eero app walks you through it. No advanced settings needed.

Before you start

Have these to hand:

Replacing an old router?

Disconnect the old router before you begin.

When you set up your eero, use the same Wi-Fi name and password as your old network — most of your devices will then reconnect on their own, with no need to re-enter the password on every phone, TV and speaker in the house.

Set up your eero in 7 steps

01

Get the app

Download eero from the App Store or Google Play. Open it and sign in, or create an account if you’re new to eero.

02

Connect your eero

Run the Ethernet cable from your Fibre Nova ONT / fibre box to either Ethernet port on the eero. Both ports work.

03

Power it on

Plug in the power supply and switch it on. The front light flashes white while it starts up. Allow a few minutes.

04

Follow the app

Keep your phone close to the eero with Bluetooth on and follow the prompts. There are no advanced settings to configure.

05

Choose a location

Name the eero after the room it’s in – Living Room, Hallway, Office or Bedroom. This makes it easier to identify later.

06

Create your Wi-Fi

Choose a Wi-Fi network name and a secure, memorable password. Save them somewhere safe – you’ll need them for every new device.

You’re connected!

When the front light turns solid white, your Fibre Nova Wi-Fi is ready to use.

What the light on your eero means

Light What it means What to do
Flashing white Starting up Wait a few minutes
Solid white Connected and working Nothing – you’re all set
Red No internet connection Check the cable to your ONT, then contact us

Seeing a different colour? Check the eero app first — it usually explains what’s happening — then contact Fibre Nova Support.

Troubleshooting

The app can’t find my eero

Check that Bluetooth is switched on, that you’re standing close to the eero, and that the eero light is flashing white — it needs to be powered on and started up. Closing and reopening the app often helps.

The light keeps flashing white and never goes solid

Give it a full five minutes. If it’s still flashing, check the Ethernet cable is firmly seated in both the ONT and the eero, then contact Fibre Nova Support.

The light is red

A red light means the eero can’t reach the internet. Check the Ethernet cable between your ONT and eero, and confirm your ONT is powered on. If it stays red, get in touch with us.

My Wi-Fi is slow or drops in certain rooms

Move the eero somewhere more central and open — away from walls, cupboards, TVs and other electronics. If coverage is still patchy, talk to us about adding another eero to your network.

I’ve forgotten my Wi-Fi password

You can view and change it in the eero app under your network settings.

Still need a hand?

Keep your eero powered on and follow the prompts in the app. If you’re still stuck, our support team is here to help.
